Anybody know of an app for the Treo that can convert text to speech?
Why do I ask? Because a friend on mine has a Perl script that he uses to grab the text of RSS feeds and then he syncs the text files to his Pocket PC and uses a program on there to read them aloud to him while he drives, walks, washes dishes, etc…
The alternative is to use something using desktop TTS like Audiolicious but it’s a fairly involved install and it’s Windows-dependent.

HipTalk for Palm OS will speek Memos, To-do lists, and even ebooks. The download is 4 MB so im not sure how much room this will take up on the Treo. Here is the address:
PalmGear : Hiptalk for Palm OS
Let us know if this works!
The new version of iPodderX - www.ipodderx.com (among others) does this on the Mac.
