If you are one of those that have a shiny new Intel Mac, you have probably been eagerly awaiting the universal binary of Missing Sync 5 for Palm to be released. Well the wait is over - Today Mark/Space announced the release of Missing Sync 5.1. The main new feature of 5.1 is now it is a universal binary, which means that it will natively run on the new Intel-based Macs - instead of running through Rosetta. The update also addresses numerous other issues including issues with PIM syncing and much more. You can take a look at the numerous changes here - The Missing Sync for Palm OS - Release Notes
You can download the update from Mark/Space’s website - http://www.markspace.com/downloads.html

I’m not sure how trustworthy the source is, but a PalmInfoCenter.com reader wrote in with some details they found out while at a local Sprint Store about the Treo 700p -
“So the story is our source visited a Sprint store this past Saturday. He asked their lead tech if he knew anything about the release of the Treo 700p. The tech pulled up a webpage from Sprint that not only had the Sprint part number for the 700p but also had a “May/June” release date indicated, which he let him see for himself.”

If you think you are now going to get mail from Halle Berry or Ashton Kutcher, your not - I said Movistar mail not Movie Star mail. Today, Palm and Movistar are announcing a new mail service called movistar mail. Movistar mail will allow Treo customers of Movistar to have a mobile office that synchronizes email, address book, calendars and tasks in real time.

Today, Earthcomber announced the launch of their new Windows Mobile version of their software. Earthcomber, along with free maps for any city and county in the US, offers travel and shopping guides that point you to nearby locations. Your Earthcomber map (free) shows you where you are at and combs the surrounding area to find stores, restaurants, hotels, natural and historical landmarks, ATMs, etc. You tell it what you want and how far to look and it will find it for you. We call it the ultimate “favorite things finder.” There are also “spot guides” from such publishers as Where to Wear, Damron, Exxon Mobil, and Avalon, that offers layers of excellent pointers to make your trip complete. If you’re hungry for BBQ, it can not only tell you where to find it, but can tell you if the pulled pork is better than the brisket. If you’re shopping for evening wear, it can offer you complete reviews of nearby retailers who carry the best lines.
I have played with this app on my Treo 650 previously and its a pretty slick program. I also tried it out on my Treo 700w today and it works well. Once I get a chance, I will try to do a full review on it. Did I mention its FREE?
Thanks Kevin for the heads-up on this.
